How to fix the SSL connection error on my iPhone

Please try the following:

Go to Settings, then Accounts and Passwords, then tap on on account you wish to secure, then tap on email ID, tap on Advanced, scroll down until you see Enable SSL and make sure turned on, change the IMAP or POP to the proper mail server port. Tap on Done.
